Hot Runner Injection Molding

Molten plastic is injected directly into precision mold cavities using a hot runner system for even material distribution.

Cooling & In-Mold Curing

The molten resin takes the shape of the mold cavity and cools to solidify the closure structure.

Automated Mold Ejection

The cured cap is cleanly ejected from the mold without causing structural or cosmetic defects.

In-Mold Hinge & Undercut Formation

Living hinges and complex thread undercuts are integrated directly in the mold using automated tool action.

Tamper-Evident Ring Integration

Breakable safety bands are molded to match exact neck finishes on glass or plastic containers.

Threading & Fitment Testing

Closures undergo torque and thread engagement testing against target container neck finishes to ensure a leak-proof seal.

Quality Inspection & Master Packaging

Finished caps undergo visual and dimensional checks before bulk packaging in protective cartons for distribution.

Manufacturing and Molding Methods

E2Global uses a hot runner injection molding system to manufacture plastic caps and closures. This method injects molten liquid plastic directly into mold cavities, where the material takes the shape of the mold. Then the plastic is cured and removed as a finished product. This process reduces gate points and flash, creating precise results with minimal material waste. We automate this molding method to produce living hinge flip-top caps and caps with undercuts without strip molding.

What Makes a Perfect Match Between a Cap/Closure and a Container?

A size match between cap and container doesn’t always guarantee a perfect match. For example, the threading on both components needs to match—otherwise, the container won’t close properly or will allow the product to leak. Testing should be conducted to check whether a certain pairing matches.

Safety Seals

A product’s safety and security are very important, especially if the item is consumable or perishable. A safety seal is a perfect tool to determine if there has been unauthorized tampering with a container. Different forms of safety seals include breakable tamper-evident rings, heat induction seals, and shrink bands.

At E2Global, we primarily make breakable tamper-evident rings that attach to the cap or enclosure. The safety seal is properly matched to the glass or resin to which it is being molded. This ensures no leakages and gives end users the assurance that products are safe and secure.
