Manufacturing Process Methods

EVOH Barrier Layer Lamination

Polyethylene layers are combined with an EVOH barrier layer using adhesive to protect contents against air and moisture exposure.

Co-Extrusion & Sleeve Sizing

The multi-layer plastic is co-extruded into a cylinder and cut to exact tube lengths.

Tube Body & Side-Seam Forming

The material is shaped into a cylindrical tube body and securely side-seamed for leak-proof durability.

Surface Printing & Decoration

The tube exterior is printed in up to 8 colors and finished with custom glossy, matte, or foil stamping options.

Tube Head & Shoulder Molding

A plastic shoulder and threaded neck are molded and welded directly onto the tube body to form the top opening.

Protective Foil Seal Application

A tamper-evident foil seal is applied over the opening when specified to preserve product freshness and hygiene.

Hygienic Packaging & Transport

Finished tubes are packed in PE bags inside outer cartons for clean, safe shipping and storage.

CoExtruded(CoEx) Plastic Tubes

Extruded plastic tubes are another type of cosmetic tube, most commonly used for premium image personal care lines and products that must present well on retail shelves such as skin creams and UV sunscreens. By structure they are very similar to the PBL tubes however they are extruded. This process provides a smooth seamless exterior. CoEx Tubes are also suitable for foods as well as many pharmaceuticals. CoEx tubes are available in natural (clear), opaque or a huge selection of colors including pearlescent and metallic effects as well as plastic tubes with EVOH protection.

Offset printing, screen printing or labeling options can create a very attractive packaging up to 6 colors. CoEx Tubes can be further enhanced with foil stamping for a premium look. CoEx Tubes are designed to stand on their cap but have many of the same cap options as PBL Tubes. The plastic structure retains its structure through the “Memory” of plastic even after handling, same as PBL Tubes. CoEx Tubes are favorite of consumers because they are so easy to use and provide a convenient packaging solution. Combined with a Tamper Evident Safety Seal (TESS), a Tube Advantage CoEx Tube is another proven winner in packaging! Contact Tube Advantage for more information.
