Manufacturing Process Methods

Electrolytic Tinplate (ETP) Selection & Shearing

High-grade electrolytic tinplate (ETP) or tin-free steel (TFS) sheets are chosen for corrosion resistance and sheared into precise coil dimensions for automated processing.

Body Stamping & Deep Drawing

Heavy-duty hydraulic presses stamp flat metal blanks or deep-draw them into two-piece or three-piece tin container bodies with uniform wall thickness.

Precision Trimming & Edge Flanging

Rotary shearing blades trim excess metal height, while flanging rollers flare the container top and bottom edges to prepare for secure hermetic end-seaming.

Protective Lacquer & Internal Coating

Food-grade, BPA-free epoxy or organosol interior lacquers are applied and thermal-cured to eliminate chemical interactions between the metal and stored contents.

Offset Lithographic & Digital Printing

High-resolution offset metal lithography or UV-cured digital printing applies brand graphics, spot varnishes, and custom finishes directly onto the metal surface.

Double-Seaming & Closure Assembly

High-speed automated seamers interlock the tin body with the bottom end and top closures using a leak-proof mechanical double seam.

Automated Inspection & Palletized Packaging

High-pressure air sensors and AI vision-system cameras screen 100% of units for pinhole defects and seam tolerances before automated protective palletizing.

Tin Manufacturing

Tin packaging can be used in various applications and customized to fit your specific brand and project requirements. Their versatile and durable design makes tin containers the ideal solution for products ranging from food and beverages to personal care products, solvents, and more. At E2Global, we can manufacture custom metal tin containers that fit all your needs.

Capabilities

At E2Global, we manufacture all of our custom tin packaging under one roof to ensure optimal control and maintain high quality standards from start to finish. As part of our product offerings, we can create custom printed tin containers in two main variations: 2-piece, 3-piece and 4-piece cans.

2-Piece Tins

2-piece cans are made from metal material reshaped into a cylinder with a primary end, and they feature a seamed lid that can be affixed to close the can. Depending on the needs of the application, these cans can be cut to various sizes and printed with custom branding information. 2-piece cans are often seen in the beverage industry due to their good sealing properties.

This type of can offers various benefits, including excellent sealing, straight-forward production, lower material consumption, and high production efficiency. However, it’s important to note that they have limited material options and require more specialized technologies and equipment to produce.

3-Piece Tins

3-piece cans are made up of a cylindrical seamed body with a top and bottom part attached. Similar to 2-piece cans, 3-piece cans can come in various sizes and be printed with your desired decorations or branding. This type of can is seen throughout the food and beverage industry as well as industrial packaging applications because it requires less specialized equipment to produce and offers an easy-to-open option.

3-piece cans provide benefits such as good rigidity and adaptability to different material types and can shapes; however, they require more material consumption and their 3-piece design can cause more potential weak points.

4-Piece Tins

The advantage of 4 piece tin is that it can provide tall cylindrical shapes as well as create caps with hidden threading, all without losing the technical capabilities of the packaging.

Benefits of Using Tin Containers

Some of the advantages of custom tin boxes for packaging are:

  • Sustainability. Most types of metal, such as steel and aluminum, are easily recycled. Because of this, most companies use recycled metal materials rather than extracting new metals from the earth.
  • Durability. Alternative packaging materials such as plastic and paper can deteriorate over time. Metal tins offer enhanced durability compared to plastic and paper, providing a long-lasting solution that can be reused several times.
  • Visual appeal. In addition to being practical, tin containers offer an attractive packaging solution that can be decorated with your brand’s logo and various colors. This helps your product stand out on a shelf, providing a competitive advantage over products packaged in plastic or other materials.
  • Product protection. Metal packaging offers an airtight, opaque solution for products that need to be kept away from oxygen or sunlight exposure. This helps to ensure the quality and efficacy of your product.
