Manufacturing Process Methods

High-Temp Batch Melting & Gob Shearing

Raw glass melts at 1,500°C–1,600°C before precision shearing blades cut the homogeneous molten stream into temperature-controlled gobs for automated mold feeding.

Blow & Blow (B&B) Molding

An IS machine gravity-feeds gobs into blank molds where compressed air shapes the neck and parison. The parison flips 180° into a final mold for secondary air expansion—optimized for narrow-neck bottles.

Press & Blow (P&B) Molding

A metal plunger mechanically presses molten gobs into a parison to ensure uniform wall thickness, then transfers it to a blow mold for final air shaping—ideal for wide-mouth jars.

Glass Bottle Manufacturing Process

Blown glass, otherwise known as molded glass, is created by heating glass in a furnace and placing the heated glass into the cavities of a molding machine. Then, air is forced in to create the bottle’s neck and container shape, creating what it referred to as a parison. To finish the manufacturing process, E2Global uses one of two forming processes to shape the parison into the finished product.

Blow & Blow Process

The Blow and Blow manufacturing process uses compressed air to form narrow containers, particularly when varying neck thicknesses are needed. This process also requires the integration of individual section (IS) machines, which use gravity to feed molten glass gobs into a mold. Compressed air is then used to form the bottle shape and neck, creating the parison. Throughout the process, the parison is flipped 180° and reheated. Once reheated, it receives additional injections of compressed air, until the final shape is formed.

Press & Blow Process

The Press and Blow manufacturing process is primarily used for creating containers with a large-diameter finish, such as jars and wide-mouth bottles. It is also the most commonly used process for manufacturing glass bottles. Like the Blow and Blow process, it relies on an IS machine to manufacture bottles. The IS machine consists of several sections to simultaneously manufacture multiple containers of the same size. A shearing blade is used to cut molten glass into specifically sized gobs. Using gravity, the molten glass falls into the machine, where a metal plunger pushes it down into the mold to form a parison. Following the parison’s transferral into the blow mold, the manufacturing process is completed by reheating and injecting air into the bottle to form the final shape.
